I'm going to make this short and simple: The current power triangle is an interesting concept, but I believe it's missing proactive elements to make it more interesting. What do I mean? Currently I set my weapon triangle power for the following reasons: My shields are down, move energy to recharge shields. My weapon is empty, I move energy to refill my weapon. My boost is gone, I move energy to refill my boost. All these decisions are reactive. I'm moving my power to cover a system that needs to be recharged. However, what about proactive decisions? Example: I know I'm going to be hit, so I move power to shields. Effect: 100% power to shield enhances all base shield effects, increasing shield resistance to damage, reducing incoming fire. Now, instead of moving power to shields just to refill the shields, I move power to them to INCREASE my defense, making a proactive decision. My weapons are charged to full, and I move power to weapons. Effect: Weapon fire rate increases by 25%, and energy damage increases by 25%. By moving my power to weapons that are already charged to full, I now increase the damage of my next volley. I move my thruster power to full, while my boost gauge is full. Effect: I passively gain an increased maneuvering capacity of 10-15% UNTIL my boost gauge is used.
