Version: 4.4.0-ptu-10724199 Hey everyone, This is the knowledge base for our all time favourite ship: The Hull C Some of you might have noticed, there are some minor problems with and about the Hull C. So here is what we know about bugs, the causes and ways to avoid and work around them. Hopefully this might reach CIG-Staff. At least I hope it might help other players learn about the current issues with the Hull C and save them time and frustration. Disclaimer: The situation may and will change over time, so your experience may differ from what’s written here. If so, please let me know so I can keep it up to date with the current situation. I keep monitoring the situation and making adjustments on a regular bases. Whats new in 4.4.0? Besides a big payout-nerf (about 30% of what we got in 4.3) in 4.4.0 we now see a major addition to hauling in general: External Freight elevators (EFE further on) With these EFEs we can work around many of the bugs listed in this threat. I.e. if the automated loading system bugs out and wont give you any more crates or won't unload them, we now can use the EFE to transfer cargo manually. Naturally this comes with its own problems. Especially the lighting and the tractorbeam of the Hull C (STARC-185433) itself is pretty useless. Allthou CIG is working on the latter, I currently suggest to either use the Maxlift tractorbeam while EVAing between the EFE and Hull C, or bring a friend and add the help of shiptractor to bring the boxes closer to the player in space. We can finally choose if we want to risk bugged out loading boxes or ignore the cargo ATC in general and doing it manually. Allthou the risk of pad-rammers and trolls blocking terminals may occur. Additionally: Lagrage (HUR-L1, MIC-L*, ...) stil don't support loading the Hull C. With the implenetation of the Nyx system we now also get interstellar missions. Allthou Red wind and Ling offering those INTERSTELLAR missions for rookies, Corvalex doesn't. Keep in mind that you need Master rank at Corvalex to be able to do interstellar mission for them. Additionally: as of now in the PTU, we encountered a bug where you won't get reputation for Red Wind Linehaul's interstellar missions (STARC-185194). I expect it to be fixed soon, but please keep that in mind. What bug to expect Lets take a look at the bugs we know of: Bugs: Cross impact issues not related only to the Hull C but still important to know: Mission "primary objective" mismatch: When you accept missions with multiple pick up locations, the "primary objective" displaying every location as the same, although the mission description does not. That results in a corruption of not just this mission but all other missions as well. IC: STARC-148726 Hull C specific issues: Bad indicator/progress-tracker for transfer: When the cargo transfer starts, the progress-bar starts going up and reaches 100% way before the transfer has concluded. Ship not seen as stationary/hearing clicking sound when inside the box: Sometimes the box keeps telling you to remain stationary, even thou you are. or you hear a constant clicking sound (STARC-184919) Commodity trading: There is a bug that wont load the new commodity onto your grind when you buy and sell at the same time. There is also a chance that you wont get payed after the commodity buried under different boxes (see Fixes: 1. ) is unloaded. I can't say for sure if these two are related or independent, thou. Transfer stopped and wont continue: most likely to happen when you stopped your ship, transfer starts and you move the ship again (either by accident or cause it didn't see you as stationary at first but the server-ship interaction resyncs the moment you move again) (STARC-177335) Additional info: keep in mind that < 32SCU crates will be unloaded last even after the buried ones. This means stacking < 32SCU boxes atop big ones will delay the unloading process since they get loaded back to your grid and unloaded again to be counted for the mission. Known Workarounds/Avoidances Some problems are most likely to be caused by some backend issues. A relog might help solving problems. Allthou, keep in mind that reloging resets your mission log. Thats the best way to get rid of corrupted missions without having to abandon them. But keep in mind that loaded crates remains on your grid. PLEASE KEEP THE TRANSFER AREA AND DOCKING PORTS CLEAR!!! Issue Not specific to Hull C: best way is to avoid all missions with multiple pick up and/or drop off locations Specific to Hull C: When the cargotransfer starts, you'll notice the box around you disapering. hence the best way to see what’s going on is to go into the outside-view (F4) and press ESC. That way you can see the cargo transferring and won't move your ship by accident. When the transfer has concluded, the Box reapers and you are good to go. the "remain stationary" part can be caused by some axis still moving. especially when flying decoupled. switch to coupled mode and move all axis again. But most of the times its a Server issue, once again. Leaving the Pilots seat is triggering a resync. This has the best success rate. Other workarounds may be: leave the box partialy and go straight back in, fully leave it and try a different angle (you are supposed to be parallel to the station) or even QT away and come back when the Box-assignment expires. (Since 4.4: use the EFE) Best way to avoid loses in commodity trading is to sell and buy separately and making sure there are no boxes buried beneath others you wont sell at your current location. (Since 4.4: use the EFE) See workaround 2. except QTing away Conclusion BEFORE ACCEPTING ANY MISSION make sure the over all server performance is good. Look out for input delays in particular but also lags and stutters. If the server doesn't feel right, look for another one or change region. Nearly everything about cargo transfer for the Hull C is highly susceptible to server/backend issues. Bad servers WILL kill your fun ;-) AVOID multiple location missions, as these may still bug out EXPECT changing mission locations, Cargo types and quantities, mismatching description and objectives, ... EXPECT to loose your commodity invest to some backend problems EXPECT to encounter things and issues not listed here. Feel free to let me know what you encounter and how to help me keep this thread up to date. Your help will help others for sure Since we now have EFEs using them is a good way to avoid many bugs. But keep in mind that this comes with its own set of problems mentioned above Big thanks and shout out To all the testers and good ideas from the testing chat. Join the testers and help improving the game To everyone reading, sharing and posting (in) this threat. That's all the information we can provide so far. I will update this post whenever we learn more/new stuff. Prior fixes: 4.3.0 Fixes: - Mission cargo transfer: We can stack cargo from different hauling missions now. The transfer system now knows where all the crates are located and will unload the crates based on mission. E.g. if we have two orders on the grid and some of the boxes from order A are buried under crates from order B, all accessible crates from order A will be unloaded first. To get these buried crates from order A the crates from order B blocking them will be unloaded but wont count as delivered, since they get loaded back on your grid as soon as all the buried crates from order A are fully unloaded. This also works if the crates from order B are meant for another location. This will most likely fix the mission cargo miscount issue. - Commodity trading: As of now commodity trading works as intended. You buy stuff, bring it elsewhere, dock, sell it and fly to the loading bay to get unloaded. Allthou I could also discover a bug with selling and buying at the same time.
