Let's start with plausibility: Why would the size of a QT drive limit its range? Does anyone know any engine, the size of which limits its range? Does a small car have to stop before it runs out of fuel because it has a small motor? No. There is no plausible reason for this. Sensibility: Why would anyone think this makes sense? Think of all the bounty hunters in their hawks having to watch their prey jump away in a Mercury, knowing that they will never ever be able to catch up with them because they are forced to stop every 900.000 km... This is just as thought through as the cannon thing. I thought CIG had learned something from that. Gameplay: Why would anyone think tedious, repetitive tasks make good gameplay? The majority of players own small ships. Does anyone at CIG think they will have fun traveling to Hurston in 20+ consecutive jumps not including the forced interdictions? Does anyone at CIG understand that people were looking forward to long distance travel, where players can leave their seats and walk around in the ship until they reach their destination? Why take this away from us? Why not do it differently? If smaller ship should have a disadvantage in QT why not reduce the QT speed? And if that is not possible, because QT speed is fixed, why do it at all? the fuel limit is limit enough. Why did this even make into a build? I find it deeply concerning how little sense for good gameplay CIG designers show regularly. Yes, it is reversible, yes it is only a first iteration. But is is the least clever first iteration that was possible. And that seems to have tradition at CIG as long as I can remember and I backed in 2012. I wonder why.
