this time last year I was still very excited about SC. I was playing regularly with my friend group and was especially looking forward to most of the features lined up for 2024 (I wasn't sold on MM, but I hadn't experienced it fully at that point, other than in AC, and was happy to give it a shot). then came the dark age of poor decisions (imo). from hit markers to bizarre UI choices. MKIIs to F to interact. respawn truck to monitised nerfs. and, of course, master modes. I felt awful. the game I loved, my favourite game, the game I saw myself playing for the next decade was slipping away. I honestly don't recognise it anymore. the way the devs. interact with the community, the way the shows are produced, the direction of some of the core mechanics and a complete removal of the spirit of what I thought star citizen was meant to be. I was a PC gamer, a lover of all things sci-fi and space. THIS was THE game for me, a playground where I can be and do whatever I want. I have been frustrated with the development before but I understood that the BDSSE will take time and felt that CIG was making it happen. my love and support never waivered. why the post today? because.. uh. I don't think I care anymore. whatever stage of grief I am on, it's the one where I have read and seen enough that I don't feel connected to CIG or the project. it only causes me frustration. frustration of what could've been, and frustration that no one seems to be making the game I want to play. this is not goodbye (no ships for you!) - but I am going to stop checking in here every day, I stopped watching SCL many moons ago and of course, the annual spend has ceased. I used to love messing with my fleet, imagining how me and my crew would use the glorious ships and what we'd get up to, now, I honestly couldn't give a toss. I don't think I have created a thread before - and if so, it's been a long time. no doubt some people will point out that it's me that has changed. maybe. maybe not. Chris and Sandy, Ben and Alexis, Wingman and all the OGs, thank you, it was a blast, and I wish the project all the best. o7 edit Feedback, where all good threads go to die.
