Should a solo F7 Hornet be able to harass, beat, and soft death a fully crewed player Perseus while taking zero ship damage ? I am not the type of guy to go around recording everything or clipping every person I kill. I know some people will say, “The clip is a week old…so it is irrelevant” but the question still stands. For context, there were technically two other ships there One was a Freelancer, but he flew directly into the Perseus and died. The other was a Drake Cutlass Black, but he only really showed up at the very end, and I killed him too. So the main fight was still basically one solo F7 harassing and soft deathing a fully crewed player Perseus. I was literally on the phone with my mom ordering crab rangoon and sushi (dynamite rolls) while this was happening. If someone is able to take out multicrew ships as a solo light fighter or medium fighter while casually ordering food on the phone Then something is very wrong The whole meta right now is smaller always wins If you are in an M80 and a medium fighter shows up...you’re done If you are in a Hornet and a light fighter shows up Don’t even fight back…you’re done too I understand the Perseus is not really supposed to be a swarm defense or punch down type of ship. It is built to punch up against larger/cap targets. But if the PDCs, which are supposed to act as some kind of deterrent and say “Hey this is my bubble. Don’t enter or you die” are not doing their job Then what is the point ? Right now they don’t stop missiles, they don't stop torps, and they don't even stop fighters So what is their purpose ? Why does the Perseus exist as a ship that is supposed to punch up if everything else in the game can punch up too ? If light fighters, medium fighters, and random solo ships can all punch up into multicrew/cap ships, then what makes the Perseus special ? So here is my serious question: If the singular ship is greater than the whole crewed ship, then the balance is backwards. If one solo fighter can outperform the combined value of a multicrew ship, its crew, its cost, and its intended defensive systems, then why would anyone choose the whole over the one ? Why would anyone use a swarm defense ship against light fighters if a single ship from that swarm has more effective firepower, is faster, hits more often, is infinitely cheaper, and can be soloed ? Why load multiple people into one ship if one person in a fighter can go take out a whole group ?
