Yesterday I tested Spirit's tractor beam function and it works fantastic. Visuals and UI is great. However, what really could improve my experience with this feature would be an option to keep it on after I leave the co-pilot seat. It sounds very unintuitive or even illogical. Why this piece of equipment would turn itself off on its own after leaving the seat? I'm looking at the opportunities if it was possible to leave it on: carrying a small container or, if mass allowed it, small ground vehicle attached. That would really make this feature and the strength of the tractor beam of Spirit C1 shine for me. Don't get me wrong. Towing beam of dedicated Towing Boats would still be distinctive enough by tethering much larger mass. If You design a pickup truck, it doesn't take away from dedicated hauling trucks because You get the fraction of that functionality. Kindly asking @YogiKlatt-CIG. :slightly_smiling_face: EDIT: As Mr. YogiKlatt-CIG suggested, I am directing this little question at Mr. @Thorsten-CIG :slightly_smiling_face: EDIT2: Folks, leaving tractor beam on could come with its own set of disadvantages, aka gameplay choices. Maybe it's gonna cut into your power distribution. Maybe You would have to turn off weapon systems to keep it steadily on. Maybe You'd have to use additional batteries and so on. It's all additional gameplay choices for a player to have fun with. And more so, dedicated tow boats could work without those problems as the keeping beam on is the natural property of this kind of ships. I am all for limiting one person's capabilities when it actually is logical and fits. Like, two people can already be much more efficient by operating way more systems simultaneously (take engineering gameplay into consideration) - so there is your natural limitation right there. However, forcing a player to have a "keep button pressed" subscription in form of hiring an NPC to do exactly that is as fun as ROC-DS which players almost universally hate. I really do believe that could be an excellent selling point for Crusader Spirit C1 vs RSI Zeus MKII Clipper. Spirit could be able to tow small vehicles in addition to its cargo hold thanks to its strong tractor beam. Imagine a crew of two going ROC mining, but the ROC can be picked up on the fly and tethered with a tractor beam.
