Dear CIG. You must understand that SQ42 and GTA6 are not the same audience, so putting your release date based on the other game does not make sense. GTA6 is a console game, SQ42 is a PC game. Story wise: SQ42 is a space-based novella, GTA6 is an open world with a story element. GTA6 is about 2 criminals getting rich while surviving the decisions of their criminality, SQ42 is a soldier trying to save humanity. In other worlds, completely different story lines that will draw a different type of player. Equipment: Thans to Trumps messing in the middle east, people don't have the cashflow they once had. Your console player isn't going to spend thousands to buy themselves a PC that can play SQ42, and your PC player isn't going to run out and buy a PS5 (half the price of a video card) to play GTA6. People just can't afford such luxuries anymore. So neither game is taking anything away from the other's audience. Media: 2 different audiences remember. Yes, the console heavy video game reviews will be all over GTA, while the PC reviews will all be about SQ42. Not that anyone actually believes the media about games anymore as it's all about word of mouth. Remember how Sony got trashed over their move for Helldivers? Remember how word of mouth is what got you to 1billion in crowdfunding? Word of mouth is your best marketing tool. Don't forget, word of mouth is what made Lucky Number Slevin sales that equaled the production cost, which even the domestic release couldn't meet. So yeah, word of mouth and the reviews from your players will make or break your game, including the future of SC. If you're worried about video game awards, I suggest you focus on the game first. What do you seriously think is going to bring a better audience. A game that competes with GTA6 and (can benefit from a comparison of the bugs between the games) or a game that was pitched to be released in 2016 (Answer the call, remember???) delayed by a decade, Hold the Line (2026) and then gets delayed yet again? I can guarantee that the delay will have a lot more negative effect on your release, than competing with GTA6 would. So just focus on the game and don't worry about what the other kids are doing in the school yard. Edit: For the mods.. why was this moved to feedback, when there are a dozen other SQ42/GTA threads in General still? Some even older?
