I’m going to be blunt because it needs to be said: STOP chasing massive, over-the-top plans and just make a GAME. We don’t need the next generation of everything right now. We don’t need the next "tech revolution" that takes 10 more years to add into the game. Stop trying to make an engine instead of a game. We need just a few basics: Core gameplay that’s actually fun and stable. Social systems that make the universe worth living in. A game that feels alive instead of a never-ending tech experiment. If we had a direction and a clear vision, we would be heading there already, but I cannot see the game evolve, just drift endlessly. Actually, this could be done by prioritizing just 3-4 core features, and building the rest after: Item Tiers and Rarity Social functions (including Orgs) Basic Crafting Basic Base Building The dream is amazing, but solid gameplay is needed. You can’t build a galaxy on a foundation of “someday we will have the tech”... We’ve seen promises, we’ve seen demos, we’ve seen roadmaps, but you have to deliver something! A proper game, once and for all! We need a playable, enjoyable experience now, and not in 2035. Gamify the game, add more mechanics, explore creativity! You need to add SOCIAL features so the game doesnt feel so shallow and empty. Let Players be the driving foce in this game. Also, SOCIAL features in combination with Basic Base Building, Basic Crafting and Basic Economy Loops (including Private Stores) would make the game excellent. Stop doing Cloud Tech v5000, and start prioritizing functional core gameplay features for all of your clients / backers / supporters. I say this because I care. I want Star Citizen to succeed, but success starts with delivering a game first, and a masterpiece later. UPDATE TO THE POST: To be clear, this Event was a missed Opportunity to make this game more Social, because noone wants to make Party for this Event. If the Event was more "social oriented", people would have a reason to log in everyday, being helping others or themselves by doing the Event as a Team. My ORG has more than 200+ Players, and all are in separate rooms in Discord, doing their own thing, and no one wants to do Missions as a group. This leaves Players alone, facing an enormous and boring job (2.800 Boxes for each Faction), instead of encouraging getting together and enjoying SC as an ORG. This could have simply been done with the proper iniciatives taken by the developers, by encouraging cooperation like a proper Gaming Community. What we have now this is just a shadow of what this Event could have been if the focus was on people playing together (bugs aside).
