Hello CIG staff, untill now i've never felt the need to put some real script in Spectrum....BUT, that's enough. As a game maker and developper myself there's things i can understand totally, things that take a lot of time to be operational, that's a point, but here there's a problem hitting the whole backers community. I won't start to blame anyone but instead i will put some points and advises, use them or not but as a professional AND an old backer i have to do it. Here's the list of points you should take in count to make this project go to the good direction: 1 => You seem to have big problems in your code, this project started 12+ years ago and a lot of dev teams have worked on it, with different methods and ways to work, creating gameplay stability problems because of incompatibilities and merging issues with other systems, first thing to do would be to put a Team to rewrite the code totally in a single, good and stable base, it will take some time and ressources but that's the main priority. (i've simplified to make it short) 2 => You still have ships that still need to be released since years, you made such a progress to resolve this and that's quite good but there's ships out that need to be fixed, 890j ramps and collision problems is an example, think about really fix those issues because people who own those ships won't stay forever if you don't, they're people that put their faith in dev team to make the project they believe in a reality and this faith can be lost forever. 3=> The hurting one: Hangars and Freight elevators (ouch!) I won't point someone but there's ONE issue that have to be fixed once forever, in fact that's several issues but they're related to a single base system, the storage. This is about fixing: -Ships impounded and destroyed when you store/ retrieve them -Ships disappear because of some random collision with something, sometimes invisible, making you lose everything on it -Ships on docking port are destroyed if you forget to store them before switching server/ log out instead of just being stored, what would be more logic. -(there's more about related problems concerning ships you know, i won't put more about them on this issue) -Freight elevators aren't working in the majority of places they HAVE to work, causing real gameplay issues for players, that's the same about new and old features, from contested zones to Lazarus locations, when you fing a spot working that means you're very very lucky, most of time you have a lot of problems to get your rewards or just be unable to get them, that's not something that can be ignored, this is impacting totally gameplay loop. This is an issue that NEED to be fixed once for all. 4=>Inventory problems. This is something that every player in Star citizen experiment everyday, this inventory system is working but players have duplications, lose their items on floor and it disappear while they are just trying to move things in their inventories or warehouse, can't equip some armors parts, think they took an item but in fact the inventory rolled back and the item is still in storage or the opposite case, it's still on the floor of the previous location, there's a lot of other issues i won't put here, some other people have already put them in the issue council so i won't expand it here. While it's not a major thing to fix, it's still something really important to work on. 5=>Stop making stats go and down and think about balance, not balance between ships but ships balance stats themselves, try to proceed by ship sizes/types/utility, put a median universal setting and move ship stats up and down to balance them for what they are AND finally, balance them between ships. Example: Small ships => Small medium stats, Medium Ships => Medium Median stats, Large ships =>Large Median stats Start from those universal stats to set your ships balance, increase and decrease them taking in count the ship capability and the role you want it to cover, each size have it's own medium stats, a middle line you can start from. I will stop here for today, think about looking it seriously because it's not made to judge you but to help you, we don't make an easy job no matter the project and i know it. I'm not just a player, i'm also a developper, and i love what you all try to make, i had faith in this project when i saw it, just a bit after you started it and for now i still have faith in you guys Chris Roberts and Erin Roberts are who they are but i put my faith in you, to all the people that are creating this universe! I hope it will help a bit about what to focus on for now. Thank you for making this huge amount of work between stars, make it good, make it real, make it out. (But don't make a real life in game, that's not what we want, unfortunately, people have to earn money and won't have enough time to play if you put too much "realism" in the gameplay, except if they're paid to play but that's another, complicated subject, haha).
