There is currently no end to end piracy arc in 3.9. Previously the piracy arc was from physics grid merging, addressed in this ticket: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/community/issue-council/star-citizen-alpha-3/STARC-111492-Removal_of_the_only_Piracy_Arc/contribute Supposedly it is replaced by selling stolen goods and No Questions Asked Terminals, yet the mechanics do not exist in the game, addressed in this ticket: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/community/issue-council/star-citizen-alpha-3/STARC-111294-Unable_to_sell_stolen_goods___Missing_Hidden_Terminals I get that the first one was a bug, and it was allowed to continue for pirates, but fixing it without providing an end-to-end piracy benefit for stealing ships, selling cargo, and gaining from piracy relegates this richly storied game to pure space trucking. Interestingly in both threads is identifying space trucking itself as an exploit, as the cargo is not supposed to magic itself into the bays without an investment of time for loading. Essentially the piracy player base will lose interest in the game entirely. The prison is nice, as there is a definite cost to illegal activity, but the life of crime must have some sort of benefit. I also like that the R&R stations do not have armistice, and see lots of potential, but really when it comes to revenue generation, I don't know anyone that's going to risk wearing a yellow jump suit for on-ship heists with minimal payout... it's just not feasible. With the relatively small group, I get it if you want to marginalize it, but I was promised piracy.
