Something I would like to address because I've seen a similar post recently and I feel it should have a bit more attention paid to it: The kill-on-sight-for-no-reason problem. Now, I know this is alpha, and I know that when the game goes full release all of this will be wiped clean anyway. However, there's something that should strongly be considered with the state of the game as is: General impression of the game on the public. There is already enough doubt in the full completion of this game. The last thing we want is people coming in, spending 2+ hours just trying to complete their first simple mission and never getting anywhere because somebody with a gun and no regard for others' game-experience pulls the trigger and laughs about it. Then the player who has spent a minimum of $45 in good faith to be a part of this ends up frustrated and demands a refund and then goes onto social media and talks about how the game is horrible due to the community and not worth the money. Especially when the largest selling point of this game is meant to be "the experience". I have faith in this game despite a lot of factors, and even I am frustrated with the shoot-on-sites. I spent more than 4 hours yesterday trying to earn a little starter money with the Covalex mission and every time I went my ship and I were both dusted. Did I lose anything? Yep: time and some enjoyment. Could I have travelled to one of the moons and looked for work there, maybe, but if I'm a noob and I use the contract manager in my mobiglass and the only contract I see available is that Covalex mission, where do you think I'm headed, unknowingly most likely to die? I'll be posting this on the RSI forums as well, but I think this should be a callout to the community and the developers. A ) Try not to be a dick. B ) If you have decent gear and a good crew, maybe reach out and offer to be "guardian angels". C ) If you're reading this and you've been one to kill people at random for no real reason, maybe take a sec and think about how others' experience can help or hinder the promotion of the game in the public eye.
