With 3.17 EM missiles now do only distortion damage to ships. That's fine and all, but the issue is with the Scimitar V EM missiles fired from the Ballista. They have 50m minimum lock distance, shared only with the other type of missile that the Ballista can fire, the Hellion VII. That makes the Ballista obscenely dangerous since that lock distance is far too close to be effectively countermeasured, making the Ballista a supreme airspace denial tool, as it should be. I think most people would agree that the Ballista was in the perfect spot in 3.16. But making the Scimitar V missiles distortion missiles runs the risk of severely reducing the effectiveness of the Ballista. Testing is required, but perhaps a dev that didn't realize that will see this and make adjustments accordingly.
