Patch 4.10 was the last one that interested me. Because of the instances and the siege of Orison. But the patch flopped as usual and changed nothing. The Orison siege is a very dull and uninteresting experience. As a shooter, the game is very boring and buggy. The enemy NPC are just stupid, and fighting them isn't interesting. They gave them a massive HP boost. It looks absolutely ridiculous when you shoot an enemy in the head ten times and he doesn't die even though he isn't wearing a helmet. It feels like I just logged into Destiny or Division. Shooting weapons isn't fun either, there's almost no impact from the shooting. Even in its first iteration in patch 3.17.2, the Siege of Orison was more interesting, and at the time, it was a new experience for this project and it felt like an MMO experience. Before that, blueprints were introduced in patch 4.7. This change was a turn for the worse. It adds unnecessary grinding much like Wikelo, in a game where wipes happen constantly. It’s just another stupid timesink. Also, they've start adding blueprints as an event reward, that don't even persist after wipes and it doesn't attach to the account. There simply no more any event rewards anymore. The game still lacks an auction house or any form of player to player trading. I'm not interested in mining. I don't have mining ships, and I don't have the ability to buy gems from other players who do mining. Mining under current conditions, when the game simply isn't working, it's just madness. Ships keep blowing up due to bugs, and items just get lost in the void. Crafting in Star Citizen takes up too much timesinks. The majority of players will never engage with it in its current form. Before that, they added Engineering in patch 4.5. The execution was, as usual, quite poor. Ships were constantly burning, and components were being destroyed very quickly. NPC keep firing even after the player's ship has been disabled, and they don't even give you a chance to repair it. But if the developers had tried to properly refine it, I think a lot of people would have liked this system. As of now, almost all high penetration weapons have been heavily nerfed. There is simply no engineering gameplay no more. Before that, they added wikelo in patch 4.1. And once again, it’s just a massive waste of time. Nobody likes wikelo, everyone hates him and wish him dead. Not only does it require a huge amount wasted of time. And on top of that, it’s not even working because of the bugged freight elevators. This looks like bad trolling. If they remove it from the game, everyone will be happy. Before that, they added Pyro and server meshing in patch 4.0. Well, Pyro just dead. There’s no one there, and nothing to do there. There’s a worm there that’s a really boring boss. He drops resources for wikelo with a very small chance and you have to kill him dozens of times. I mean, it’s just that same incredibly tedious grind again and one that gets reset by wipes, too. It is absolutely pointless to do this. You can kill him once, since there’s nothing else to do in the game and that’s it. There are also contested zones in Pyro. I like the concept, but the execution is very poor, as usual. As I’ve already said, the game is very weak as a shooter. But these problems are even more apparent in PvP. The game has absolutely insane lag, delays, and desync issues. They are so big that it's simply unplayable. There is no sound of footsteps, visibility is very poor. Server meshing didn't fix anything either. All these events are completely pointless when the game doesn't work at a fundamental level. I’d personally like to play in Pyro all the time and run standard missions there, because I’m already sick of Stanton after all these years. But for some reason, the distances you have to travel in Pyro for missions are much greater than in Stanton, Nyx has the same problem. If I pick up a bounty hunting mission near Crusader, it takes me about 20 seconds to reach bounty mission and it will be near the Crusader. But if I do it in Pyro, target will be far away, and not even anywhere near the planet I'm on. And these contracts pay the same across all systems. This is yet another time sink. They had also previously added Master Mode, which made flying tedious and no fun. They also added a new interface that looks absolutely terrible. So, in nearly two years, they haven't added a single thing that's actually meaningful or works properly, and the game has remained the same borken tech demo it always was. But what comes next in patches 4.11 and 4.12? New planets in the Nyx system? So, just like Pyro? But with Genesis? And what do you do on them? The same thing as in Pyro? Nothing? There is nothing but a pretty picture? With 15 fps??? With the same repetitive outposts, and no cities? You know, in No Man's Sky or Starfield or Elite Dangerous, you can generate planets like that endlessly. And unlike Star Citizen, there’s actually stuff to do there. But as usual, apart from decent visuals, it looks like we won't be getting anything else. Although it's not guaranteed that we'll get the same Genesis level of quality shown at CitizenCon. The game's graphics aren't bad as it is. It's worse than many modern AAA titles, but it's still hold up. What’s definitely missing is the actual game and gameplay. And also the fact that the game simply doesn't work due to a huge amount of bugs that haven't been fixed for decades. Even if they add the ability to build outposts, what’s the point if it works just like everything else currently in the game? With wipes, non-functional mining, a tedious endless grind, and no trading. It will just be another endless timesink. Time passes, and nothing changes. I don't even know what good to expect anymore. The roadmap is gone now, too. Or wait, I know what to expect and what will definitely happen! New ships in store! Yaaay!
