In 3.22 it became clear that the Dragonfly and Nox were missing shields - components they've had since 3.0.0. That's 6 years ago btw. With no information advising that this was an intended change, I did what any good citizen would do and raised an IC here: https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-95400#contribution:f4e94160-a1a4-419b-8710-01a582da6873 As you can see, the IC has been archived and we've been sent away to discuss it amongst ourselves, which I take to mean that we have to come to terms with it. I'll be honest, I find this approach insulting. This isn't a minor change for these vehicles and, in fact, for the Dragonfly it's yet another significant step away from concept: once was a snub suitable for space; once had flight capability in atmosphere; was promised three modes of operation, two of which have failed to materialise in the last 6 years; was specified as having a shield (see brochure image) and is still listed as such on the ship page (believe me, we may laugh about how poorly maintained that site is, but I think new backers will feel deceived and I think people have complained about that long and hard enough for CIG's lack of attentiveness to be seen as either endorsing or not caring about misleading marketing material). It's also a waste of backers and CIG's time, administering the Issue Council when we could have been briefed up front. You have a communication problem. If you're going to deviate from concept, which is more than a matter of balancing, then it would seem to be good manners to tell people up from what you're doing and why you're doing it. You can hide behind the caveat of 'subject to change' all you like, but without good communication to backers, you're going to leave people to conjure up their own reasons for why you're altering the ships in the way that you are. e.g. - salami slicing for sales rather than it being a requirement of game design. There are so many good things about this project - so much hard work done - amazing standards of artwork and sound design - industry leading tech development - but communication that is anything but marketing led is simply not good enough.
