There is way to much 'stuff' on the HUD. It is interfering with the ability to clearly see out the front of your ship and most of the information does not seem important enough to warrant taking up valuable HUD realestate. My biggest question is what are the lines that are in 4 different places on your HUD suppose to inform you of? I believe they are suppose to represent the heat, IR for your ship, and 'other things??' How do they help me in a dog fight, or navigating around the verse? If they are on my HUD they should be critical information that I am going to need to see at a glance. In my opinion they don't provide any useful information at all. What I need to see on my HUD, remaining ammo or overheat meter for laser weapons, remaining missiles, locked target location, reaming fuel (QT and regular), speed, direction (compass or some indicator of direction based on planet or sun?), radar panel that works (drake ship issue), default coms channel (instead of have to find it in the MFD menu), Chat (critical info), a clear view though the cockpit window that is unobstructed by large useless/redundant UI items. What I don't need to see: My statues twice, HUD and MFD. Target statues twice, HUD and MFD. Squiggly lines that mean nothing to my successful operation of my ship, ie heat, IR, etc in four different location on the HUD and MFD. All the areas that currently have the squiggly lines could be used to display remaining ammo/heat buildup in the weapons or a coms panel as a default (because its used constantly for landing and easier to use then the mostly bugged mG) or the overclocking/power management. I'm sure players will have more to add. Some serious attention and love needs to be paid to the HUD/MFDs as they are the interface when you are flying your internet spaceship. The HUD needs to display critical information only, the information you need when in a dog fight or navigating or landing/taking off. All other information can be displayed as menu options in the MFDs and accessed when you are not in a stressful situation where quick access to critical information will be the difference between winning and exploding! The squiggly lines clogging up my view have yet to provide that information. And...how much ammo do I have left????? :stuck_out_tongue: Please add to this with any and all suggestions. We need to make this kick-ass game, not a "well if they had done this it would have made the game so much better..." BTW CIG, I'm being a little harsh but I just want this game to be the SH$T!! You guys are really making an incredible game here and the right tweaks will just push it over the top.
