Turrets have always been very difficult to aim and hit anything, even when the parent ship is still or maintaining a smooth vector. I believe the major issue is that turrets continue rotating left/right when the mouse (or aim reticle) is on the left/right side of the screen. This makes tracking a target very difficult. We'd prefer the turret aim reticle follow our input exactly at 1:1. I'd love it if when I move the mouse to the left, the turret follows and stops when my mouse stops. Just like how FPS weapons work. Sure, the turret could lag behind a bit to simulate a mechanism, but the aim goal should be at mouse 1:1 It's much easier to hit targets outside while standing inside a ship, looking out an open door, because the player points their gun where I point with the mouse (they don't keep rotating, that'd be silly...) I have built a small mockup prototype "game" that shows how I'd prefer turrets to work: exe https://drive.google.com/open?id=1oyPWO0UmiMHJtIvaDOlzQf7_5k0BUjzB Like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJWQ7zRFuhY and this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNx8iPPNx14 and especially this (Angels Fall First) https://youtu.be/RQbMYww-wg4 IC report: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/community/issue-council/star-citizen-alpha-3/STARC-61595-Turrets_are_extremely_difficult_to_use Download the example Turret "game" New version: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1oyPWO0UmiMHJtIvaDOlzQf7_5k0BUjzB old: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1_IEYniQMdBofbpYIEYsckJFzUbjBMeqq WebGL Version: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1D5E4wuPo_mYCYDcAWLOwx-XHX5fVKQx3 Reddit link: https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/8u9789/turret_control_needs_to_be_11_with_input_not/
