First off let me start that saying that I'm enjoying MM quite alot, sure it still needs tuning but I don't pretend having enough experience with them to provide some feedback on that. What I can give feedback on is on one thing, the keybinds. I'm a joystick gremlin user and I'm using switches (flip triggers more precisely) to switch between NAV and SCM mode. Those switches send either a continuous 1 or 0. From that, I can build entirely different profiles using the status of the switch that manages NAV/SCM to setup different binds depending of the mode I'm in. For exemple, when my left flip trigger is in NAV mode, my right flip trigger swaps between Quantum mode and Flight mode, while when I'm in SCM mode it switches between Gun and Missile modes. It's very immersive and a joy to play like that. I posted yesterday in the MM feedback thread but this became even more of an issue with today's patch that allows the cancelation of mode switch. This is a great and much needed change but it makes the configuration I'm using very scuffed and unreliable. The issue is that if I can start the ship with the left trigger in the wrong spot, ie ship starts in SCM but my trigger is in NAV mode position. If this happens, my right trigger will try to call Quantum or Flight mode while in SCM which obviously won't work. So far, the bandaid solution I found was using Gremlin to send the position of the flip trigger to the profile and use that as a condition for the right trigger to switch between modes depending on NAV/SCM status, and a button press when the status changed that I used as the keybind to cycle modes in SC. Before today's fix that allows cycling without having to wait for spooling I just had to readjust the left trigger during spool time and then I was synced for the rest of the session. With the fix however, this is impossible since the cycling is instantaneous. The consequence of that is that if I start the ship with the trigger in the wrong position, I have to exit the pilot seat, flip the trigger then sit and start the ship again. It's very tedious and annoying. Turning power off to do that doesn't work either since you can switch between NAV and SCM while the ship is powered off. Having 2 different binds for SET NAV and SET SCM mode (not toggle) in addition to the cycle one which is more convenient for most usages would 100% fix this issue and allow users to make fun bindings setups where their entire configuration changes depending on which mode they're in. What would happen with those binds is that if I started the ship with the trigger in the wrong position, I would have to only put it in the right position and everything would work as intended. The even better option would be for the game to be able to communicate directly with joystick softwares like VPC Link Tool, but that is a much bigger task and defo not a priority. I hope this feedback reaches Yogi's team, your hard work doesn't go unnoticed.
