There are a lot of great additions to the flight model in 3.5 and in my opinion the speed limiter is one of the best. That said, it definitely falls short of my hope that it would make super jerky landings in SC a thing of the past. Unfortunately, it doesn't. First off, it's already finnickky to set the speed limiter low enough to be truly helpful with making smooth manual landings. That said, even if you do manage to get your speed limiter down to only a few m/s, the acceleration will get you when trying to land or take off. One little tap of the thrusters and your ship lurches in that direction with no finesse. This is why we need the acceleration limiter to come back to the game -- it's a feature that's absolutely needed to help with fine maneuvering at low speeds. I'm not sure why it was taken out, as the issues presented by its absence are so obvious. Anyone agree?
