Ok I have sat in my ship for barely 5 minutes, and the whole HUD does a terrible job of informing me. The altitude is barely readable. The Velocity indicator tells me nothing. Its a bar, with no info. This is litterally a prime example of "Overdesign to the point of unuseable." I have no indication at what speed my speedlimiter/cruisemode/sticky throttle is set to because the indicator is a line among lines and doesnt show a set speed. Not to mention it appears to work only sporadically. Where is the fuelgauge? One of the most basic things in any vehicle running on fuel. And its nowhere to be found. The whole design is completly and utterly unintuitive. Its full of useless fancy stuff that makes it unreadable and litterally hides the info that its supposed to give to the pilot. Dear CIG Devs, please for the love of god and all things holy, stop overdesigning the HUD. I dont need some "fancy" 80s bar that doesnt tell me anything. I need something that is easy to read at a glance. That line we had as a velocity indicator was the definition of perfect. Easy and quick to read. No bullsh*t, just info. Oh and who thought it was a good idea to get rid of the menu screen in the MFDs? Instead of 2 clicks (1 for the menu and 1 for the info I want) I now have to click up to 5 (if not more) times to get to the screen I want. Edit: And why the hell does the afterburner have a bar AND a % indicator?
