We've been begging for some sort of "night vision" solution for years now. Or some navigation IFR tool to safely fly in pitch black conditions. For a while, the active ping was a a decent placeholder solution. (And frankly, it looks really cool, I wouldn't mind having a "master mode" like that where you can't use weapons but you can see really well in the dark). But... CIG does what CIG does best. When we ask for something, they'll do the EXACT opposite. In 3.20, the active ping can no longer effectively be used to briefly identify terrain and obstacles. So if you're flying with poor visual conditions, or with asteroids around? Congrats... You are SCREWED! Like the good old days! I can't wait to crash against an asteroid because I have NO CONTROL over my fate what so ever. I just have to pray the gods I somehow avoid slamming into one. Isn't this fun? Ah yes, because making the game even more frustrating to play is EXACTLY what we need. Wouldn't be STAR CITIZEN without it now wouldn't it? /Sarcasm off. I honestly don't understand CIG's decisions sometimes. It all most feels like if the community likes something, there is someone at CIG going "NO! NO! Fun? We don't do that around here! Remove it!" Edit: I hope it's a bug. But I see no mention of it in the "know issues" so far. And I'm not ruling out this being intentionally removed for some reason (Like the ability to keep doors opened was)
