Data can be more easily searched and organised if we're able to apply more of a structure to it. As such, I have a couple of suggestions which I really think would help take this platform to the next level we all want it to be on. Right now: When creating a post we have a simple system that allows one tag. I was able to tag this thread as "Idea". Firstly: one tag might not be sufficient. If I have an idea for how to deal with something that causes me concern, I would probably want to tag it both "Idea" and "Concern". Secondly: I think we could expand the tags system from a simple flat list into more of a tree structure. A "Hardware" tag is great, but it might be better to allow people to tag a "Hardware/Graphics Cards" post separately from a "Hardware/Hard Disks" post. This is most true if it is still possible to search on the "Hardware" tag to find all posts tagged with any of the sub-tags, like "Hardware/Graphics Cards", "Hardware/Hard Disks", "Hardware/Processors", "Hardware/Monitors", "Hardware/Controllers" and so on. If the system could even allow for really deep tags like "Hardware/Graphics Cards/Nvidia/GTX 10 Series". To speed things up and improve uptake of this feature I imagine a tag suggestion system would work wonders. The system could search the message text for keywords and phrases, and return a set of tag options for the user to enable or add to. A thread including the words "Hornet" and "Vanguard Warden" might suggest tags "Ships/Anvil/Hornet" and "Ships/Aegis/Vanguard/Warden". The user could add more tags if they like, allowing them to further inform searchers or readers of what the thread is about. Two threads tagged with Hornet and Vanguard might be completely different if one is also tagged "Concern/Balance/Combat" and the other is tagged "Gameplay/Advice/Spending". A game designer looking for feedback might search on "Concern/Balance", meanwhile players looking to learn the ropes might search more on "Gameplay/Advice".
