I think it's time we talked about this issue. I don't make a lot of posts. Occasionally I will give an opinion on something but as of late an issue has come to my attention that I feel like I need to put my voice too if you will. Lets talk about Spectrum for a moment shall we? Yes it has its issues like everything else but what concerns me is that Non CIG moderators have the ability to forum ban a persons account for a period of time, even if temporarily and that is not right. The first issue I see with this is that Star Citizen at its core is a pvp game. If player A blows up player B's ship in the game or takes his stuff and player B turns out to be a moderator what keeps him from inflicting real life financial or other harm to player A just because he doesn't like player A. My second point is that from what I hear Spectrum is going to be eventually integrated into the game. I really hope for sure at this point that non employees do not have the power over other players to limit or effect communication or game play for which they are entitled. My last point is why are mods banning people that the spectrum population hasn't DOWN voted in the first place? we should have this option* We should let the community self moderate to a point IMO. My recommended course of action would be if you want to keep player moderators only allow them to moderate a post if it has direct personal attacks that extend beyond the boundaries of the game. For example like " I'm going to come to your house and... bla bla bla" We all know this is a pvp game and thus we should allow certain banter back and fourth between players without mods stepping in as long as its left in game IMO. We should not allow a non CIG person to outright ban or block someone to a part of the game that they have paid. If there is a person that needs a ban only allow them at most to send a recommendation to CIG for review. Now in full disclosure I have not been banned from spectrum on any account so far...
