The nested format is growing on me purely to be able to have side conversations without derailing the whole topic, and ignoring topics with 100+ posts in it, but the posts regardless of upvotes should all still be in chronological order. you wouldn't have a book, where you just put whatever page or sentence wherever you think its most popular.
