I understand why there are no notification options for closed threads, 'cause in theory they shouldn't need one. Nevertheless I wanted to be reminded of new 'Spaceship Prices' in the 'Announcements' category but unfortunately I couldn't because the thread was closed (for good reason). Since - I guess - it's a common practice to close still active threads to prevent replies, I want to request notifications for closed threads as well.
