I wasn't sure where to put this so I though tossing it here would do. It's not actually spectrum, but it is the website. One of the main reasons I was excited for the updated ship stats, other than of course, actually relevant data, was an improvement to the usability of it. Let's go through the list. - It's completely unusable on mobile. - Using the tab at the top to navigate automatically snaps you to the far right - Using the search functionality clears your compared list - The page uses about 500MB of RAM on its own and a truly impressive amount of CPU horsepower - No matter how powerful your PC is, navigating the list feels choppy and laggy - The only way to get the ships you want to look at for a more concise comparison is to slowly and gruelingly navigate it by dragging. - ... through all... roughly 100 ships in this list. Not to mention, there's a few inconsistencies with the new data. - Did the Javelin really just increase by 135m from 345 to 480, a mere 15m shy of half the length of the Bengal? - images shown on Javelin's page clearly show it has 2 torpedo rooms with 2 tubes each, listed as 2x16, and the Polaris clearly has 1 room with 4 tubes in it and is listed as 4x7. inconsistent metrics. - How does the Polaris (a sleek, relatively flat, highly angled and supposedly agile for its class warship) have nearly double the mass as the slow, broad, tall, industrial same-length Reclaimer? - Shipyard on thrusters said that all fixed-maneuvering thruster ships have at least 12 fixed maneuvering thrusters, but the 600i has only 8 fixed maneuvering thrusters. - Did the Phoenix really get screwed out of its point defense? - the claim was made that the height would now be based off the hull sans landing gear, and the 300i is still 7m. I know it's getting reworked, but it is flyable, and we were told we could theorycraft with this data. - The Constellation Aquila is not listed as having a scanner of any kind. The Cutlass Red is, though. I have some suggestions. - First, searching needs to not clear the compare list. - I would REALLY love to be able to collapse (or even better have variants and special editions pre-collapsed like they used to be in the old days, reducing the sheer number of items we have to scroll to to get to what we want) - try to make some general optimizations, but really collapsing would reduce it from ~100 to ~56 would likely help that a lot as long as the collapsing didn't add too much overhead. - It really might be worth considering a whole new design for the ship specs that would be actually scalable into the future with more ships to come, as well as work a bit better with ground vehicles, too. I know I harped on the specs quite a bit, but I think it's pretty important to recognize that're FAR AND away better than they were. There's lot of new information here and i'm really excited to see it all. Just feel that there's still a great deal of improvement to be had.
