This is the second time this has happened...two different Orgs. So, I suspect the same reaction would be had with the same attempt in other Orgs. Why? I am told, Spectrum is inconvenient. I am told that they don't want to have to start up their browser to use it, as they can't do this while in game. I am told that they don't like that it causes them to exclude friends who aren't playing Star Citizen. I am told that Discord is a one-stop-shop. It's not, as it does not include message boards, which Spectrum does, but what it does do is allow both text and voice...which is something Spectrum does not do, and voice channels are more important than message boards. The reaction to moving many channels on Discord to our Spectrum channel, was literally, downright hostile. This indicates that the problem is not a small one. So, as I see it, these three things need to happen, for us to be able to get our Org to move to Spectrum. Make it an independent App that does not need a browser. Add voice channels, just as Discord has. Allow us to invite non-Star Citizens to the channel, and give them permissions, just as we do in Discord. This is a great way to recruit to Star Citizen, also. We do this with Discord. You have a friend in Squad, ARMA, Hell Let Loose, CoD:MW, Atlas, Planetside2, etc...and you bring them to your Discord. Eventually, you convince them to get Star Citizen so they can play that with you also. Even if Spectrum adds voice, we would lose that ability if we moved fully to Spectrum. More/Better features to allow us to keep up with activity. On older BB Message Boards, I had an activity report since my last visit. I could go to the first unread post, and read from there. The activity report for Discord disappears after I visit the first one. In other words, I may have a dozen or more alerts, but as soon as I click on one, the rest go dark. How do I know which ones I need to click on to get up to date? Also, how do I know which Categories and Groups have had activity since my last visit? I see nothing. Seems less useful that the old message boards I've used, where there were indications of which threads were hot topics, which had new posts, etc.. I will be honest...if Discord added Message Boards, it would end any discussion of moving to Spectrum. It's the only thing missing from Discord. I am curious to hear other's thoughts on this. Have you had similar push-back to attempts to shift some discussions to Spectrum? What have people stated as reasons for not wanting to use Spectrum? What do you see as a fix?
