I would like to see the ability to add bots similar to how Discord does it. That allows for a lot of useful utility. I am also wondering what type of encryption does Spectrum use. I would prefer something like app Signal uses for encryption. If that is not possible then maybe something like Discord's encryption. In general, use what is secure. If you decide to use something like AES, nothing weaker then 256 bit is acceptable. If you decide to use Sha then nothing weaker then 4096 is acceptable. Finally, Discord is actually a very good model for the type of features I would like to see in spectrum. Some changes I would also like to see. 1) Remove Bookmarks and private messages from the bar on the left. 2) Increase the number of organizations you can be in. I think the way organization are used as today are quite limited and we will be see more uses later on. For example, we have a organization that help with gaming on Linux. There are other tech topics that would fit under this category. There could be a organization that talks about in game hacking. There could be a organization about spectrum bot creating. There is a need for far more organization slots then are given now. 3) Have organization list expanded by default. 4) Move private messages into the organization list. Make it at the top of this list. It should be a list item like any other organization. 5) I'd like to see another bar on the left. This one to the right of of the organization list. When a organization is clicked on, it shows all the chat rooms in this second bar. Below chat rooms list is a list of different forum sections of that organization. When the private message area is clicked on, this second bar populates with what you have in private messages now. Yes this means private messages is moved off of the first bar. 6) To save screen space, I would like to see the first bar on the left shrunk down to just the icon. This would mean bookmarks needs to be moved to the second bar on the left I proposed. I would have bookmarks at the top of that second bar. 7) The User icon with the name and settings cog would stay in the same area (top left) but be moved to the second bar on the left since the first is to small after being shrunk to just icons. 8 ) Reddit style forum chatting. In most forums, there is a beginning and and a end. I would like to see a more Reddit like approach where someones response can act like the first post of an entire topic. 9) There needs a be a private settings of allowing Private messages from a organization. It needs to be allow, deny or follow organization setting. By default, everyone is on organization setting. The organization setting will have allow, deny or follow roles.
