One of the most difficult aspects of any organization in an MMO is scheduling. From setting up times for raids to getting people aware and attending meetings has been a challenging issue as there has never been a mechanism with in the game to help facilitate this. What would be helpful is if Spectrum has a built in calendar for each user that shows their upcoming accepted events with reminders. Pending events and the ability to create new events. The calendar itself should automatically adjust times for the individuals regional date time so that no confusion exists in trying to convert it to GMT or local time. Events should be robust enough to easily handle simple activities like an organization meeting invite to more complex like setting up a mining operation along with tracking to show who accepted the invite and who showed up, who was late and who did not show up. Permissions should be handled at the organizational level as to who can create events for the organization. Anyone can create a private event and invite friends. Organizational events can be modified by the event creator along with those given permission with in the organizational hierarchy. Along with permissions events should be customizable as to allow who can see the event title, event details, join event and if they are auto accepted. These permissions should be handled as pre-created organizational groups/divisions as well as the ability to add individuals. This way its easy to set up who can create events for divisions and organization as well as who can see the event be it members of the division, organization, alliance, general public. Events need to have a title, time and event description. Further detail of the event would allow players to contribute ships to the event and or join crews of existing approved ships. Assets contributed to the event would need to be approved prior to the start of the event and crew members would need to be approved by the ship captain. Standby lists would show assets not yet approved for the event along with ship rosters and players approved, on standby, or marked as tentative. A nice tie in would be if the system would allow ship owners/captions to notify their crew members of the meet up point and automatically give them hanger/ship access/ spawn in rights prior to the start of the event. So to wrap up the flow. An organizational leader would create an event say a mining operation for a newly discovered ore field. They set it for the next day open to the whole organization. As members check Spectrum they see the pending event click on it. They then have the option to drag a ship they own into the tentative ship fleet and place themselves as captain or drag their player into an existing approved ship. As the organizational leadership checks on the event they approve the fleet list which opens up the ship owners to approve the captains if they are not flying the ship themselves. Captains of multi crew ships approve / reject crew invite requests. As the organization fills out the roles needed they start to put single fighters on the standby list as they feel the fleet size is currently sufficiently covered. The day of the event and the players start showing up. A few players who were accepted as crew members did not show up so their position was filled from the standby list and the mission gets underway.
