i suppose they're fun, but the main point of them is that they're quick and simple and easy. however, too often they're using for being a negative snarky smartass little shit without then adding anything of any substance or effort, regardless of any differing point of view. if someone doesn't like thread/post X, then their lazy ass should actually put hands to keyboard and be required to use their words, not these stupid emojis which seem to actually get used more often than letters. look at emojis in a large thread. do you ever seen emojis that were used by someone, but that someone didn't make any actual posts in the thread? the hell is the point of that? this is juvenile, counterproductive and just all-around lame. let something basic like upvotes persist, but remove all the other crap which mostly just gets abused and leads to sour grapes, for the most part.
