Sure, it doesn't really matter if the thread only has a couple of responses, but if the thread grows large... take for example the stickied thread Lando put up about the Happy Hour-- it takes for fricking ever to jump to the end of it-- sometimes you don't have enough time to read a mega thread (who am I kidding, you NEVER have enough time to read through an entire threadnought) so you just want to skip to the end. Or maybe skip to a friends post... If you don't have a page number, you have no idea where you are, or where your friend's post is. And you can't easily skip over the hundreds of posts you don't care about, to get to the most recent handful at the very end. I'd imagine having pages would also be easier on your small mobile device, so you wouldn't have a gig of images potentially to scroll past. It is just more efficient and convenient to use pages. EDIT: OK I just noticed the jump to button at the bottom of the screen. OK that at least can get me to the end of the endless scroll so that is better, but I'd still prefer pages so I can sort of decide what chunks of a threadnaught I would like to read, and not get lost as to where I am. The old forums were excellent in the way the pages worked, and I did not appreciate how well they worked until i lost them here:(
