It's no secret, Spectrum isn't great. It could have been, especially with all the planned features for it, but at this point, we haven't seen an update in a super long time. Will we ever see an update on it? Is Turbulent even doing anything anymore? Is Spectrum still intended to be integrated in game? What about Orgs? Just askin cuz we certainly haven't seen shit about this in a while, and AFAIK CIG isn't actually developing it so it shouldn't impact any active development. If Spectrum is "feature complete" for the time being, cool. If it isn't when are improvements expected and what is being worked on? EDIT: I went through some past Monthly Updates and it seems like Turbulent is being tasked with throwaway tasks like: Nautilus mine sweeping game for August A new promo image layer in July 300i customizer in June Telemetry page, which no one uses and serves no purpose to the public, in April Promo for 3.5 stuff and upgraded the voice servers, which still don't work well, in March None of this has anything to do with improving Spectrum as a platform. These are all things that are designed to sell things instead of improving the experience. Why not focus on making Spectrum better, like fixing mobile so it doesn't suck? It seems like they are being wasted on limited scope marketing crap instead. On one hand, I get it, Spectrum isn't really used a lot so why bother. On the other, why not make Spectrum a place players WANT to be and have it be a hub for players. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT 2: It appears CIG doesn't like it when people ask questions and raise concerns about the state of Spectrum and Turbulent. The stated intention of Star Citizen is open development and communication with the community, not censorship. As backers, it is fully expected and normal for questions to be asked about the state of affairs because that has been the SOP for a while now. Never before have I seen such an concentrated effect to stop discussions from happening, moving topics around, and removing posts critical of anything on Spectrum. I have never gotten this many private messages telling me about the temporary bans and removed topics by moderators and staff from CIG before, but when it comes to Turbulent, that is what you are dealing with. This is truly amazing to me as I have seen far worse shit on Spectrum that get a free pass, but the second you mention how bad Spectrum is and question Turbulent's ability to make a functioning forum, it's game over. Either Turbulent themselves are actively censoring what they consider negative feedback or CIG has instituted a moderation directive to protect Turbulent. This is a discussion about the state of Spectrum and the severe lack of nearly all the promised features we would have. Disregarding the state of the game, Spectrum is in a real bad place and it seems only right to discuss it. This level of censorship is intolerable. As this seems to be the case and the CIG moderation staff has moved this thread from General to Spectrum Feedback, it appears as though they are attempting to stop this from being discussed further. By just looking at the insanely low view count of each thread in this sub in comparison to this thread, you can clearly see that this is an attempt to bury this discussion. This is a popular topic that people want an answer to and just removing it and hiding it isn't going to make it better. In fact, this is only making the situation worse. Due to this, I have archived this thread so it can be referred to in the future should CIG moderation decide to remove it for nebulous censorship reasons.
