The below video is a random youtube video I am embedding to demonstrate my point: The way this is displaying on my PC is really awful. Here's a screenshot of how it looks while I am posting it: That's also how every youtube video appears for me on the site. That's a 16:9 standard video format being displayed in a 11:3 box. That means that the thumbnail is not visible. When you click play... Most of the 11:3 box is given over to black space so that the 16:9 video can fit. That means that half of the frame is not being used for video, and furthermore, the video controls cover up 30% of the video when displayed. Resizing the browser window doesn't make a difference until you get down to a really really narrow browser window, enough to force the Youtube frame to change. The same problem exists on mobile - veiwed vertically it's not too bad, but if you view horizontally the same problem appears. What makes the problem even worse is that the full-screen option is disabled, meaning that any youtube content posted on spectrum essentially requires us to click through to the Youtube website to view it - defeating the purpose of having embeds.
