Hello, everyone! I'm an aspiring game artist and I'm in my final year of college. I wanted to introduce you to my last project, ARGO SRV, that I did as part of my last submission! [Artstation] https://harzmann.artstation.com/ Inspired by the detailed spaceships that CIG makes and as a big Star Citizen fan I wanted to try implementing Star Citizen techniques in my first Unreal project. I based it on the spaceships like the Argo Mole and Argo Raft as well as on the already created concept for this ship to get the same industrial style for the Argo SRV. However, this spaceship is more of an ARGO SRV-B (my variant), since I planned that this ship would be a competitor for the MISC Prospector. So the rear belly of the ship should be filled with 6 mining ore containers instead of a towing beam and equipped with a mining laser at the front. For the most part, all techniques that CIG uses are also included, such as face-weighted normals, parallax occlusion mapping and POM decals. As an freshly baked 3D-Artist now, I can say that Star Citizen is a master class of its own. There is so much work behind it to produce such a compact game that has such unbelievably good light in every scene and that is still running in real time! The whole project is a playable unreal project in which the ship is presented and you can fly it yourself! If there is a lot of demand, I will make sure that this project is available for you on the internet! I would appreciate some feedback, hope you like it!
