A combat frigate designed from the well made hull of the Kraken, the Drake Man-O-War is a dedicated warship designed to punch above it's weight in an effort to confront rising amounts of Vanduul Hunter Destroyers. The combat orientated retrofit of the well known Drake Kraken was commissioned by the UEE and Drake Interplanetary in an effort to convert existing Drake Kraken light carriers, in fringe systems where firepower was deemed more important than fighter response. This new change was initially brought about by a clan of pirates held up on one of the fringe worlds during the Vanduul war, attempting to fight back to hold off the Vanduul from capturing their 'outlaw' moon, with a UEE fleet having already failed to defend, and having a destroyed Javelin and an operation Kraken that had been stripped for parts, they took off part of the still intact top turret of the Javelin, and Frankenstein-ed the stripped Kraken back to life with a LOT more firepower. The UEE noticed this new design after it had successfully taken down a Vanduul Hunter Destroyer above the pirate moon. The Man-O-War features a large, twin S9 manned turret on the top portion of the main hangar bay, which is still capable of housing multiple light fighters, but significantly less than it's original design. With 3 twin S7 remote turrets along the main hull on either side, the Man-O-War can deliver crushing firepower in broadside attacks, whilst keeping medium and large fighters at bay. 2 twin S8 manned turrets are featured on the nose of the ship, along with a twin S7 turret on the back for rear defense. 2 twin S6 manned turrets have been added on either side of the secondary hull portion, along with 4 separate remote S5 turrets on the underside of the hull. This retrofit of the Drake Kraken has allowed the Man-O-War to forgo some cargo space in exchange for 10 S9 torpedo's. With less weight and same powerful engines, the Man-O-War can move quicker than it's original design. The UEE were confident Drake could fulfill the new retrofit for a ship embodying the philosophy of 'more guns than sense', following the first design put together by pirates. Includes a T3 Med-bay in place of the existing Dragonfly bay. Noticed the size of the dual S9 turret on top is a little off, so I have included a revised version showing what an actual S9 Tarantula dual turret would look like on this hull. :slightly_smiling_face:
