CGF CONVERTER! Project Location: https://github.com/Markemp/Cryengine-Converter or https://www.heffaypresents.com/GitHub Current version: 1.3.1 Executable: https://github.com/Markemp/Cryengine-Converter/releases Introducing a new tool designed to convert modern Cryengine games (Cryengine 3.4 and newer) into Collada (dae) and Waveform (obj) files! And eventually export them to Blender .blend files and maybe even .fbx files if I get suitably motivated. This tool is written in C#, and although I haven't done any performance enhancements yet it is still pretty fast. You can script it up with Powershell to batch process a number of .cgf and .cga files at once. There is also a Cryengine Importer (https://github.com/Markemp/Cryengine-Importer) Blender addon I've written that assists bringing in Cryengine files into Blender, creating the proper material Node Groups, etc. Tutorial Videos! Part 1: Converting Cryengine Files: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WoA2ubTZ0k Part 2: Bulk Converting Cryengine Assets: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBJzNdzFIxM Copy cgf-converter.exe to the path (for convenience, unless you want to reference the location each time you run it). Then follow the usage details below: cgf-converter [-usage] | <.cgf file> [-outputfile <filename>] [-objectdir <directory>] [[-obj]|[-dae]] [-smooth] [-throw] -usage: Prints out the usage statement <.cgf file>: Mandatory. The name of the .cgf, .cga or .skin file to process -outputfile: The name of the file to write the output. Default is [root].obj -noconflict: Use non-conflicting naming scheme (_out.obj) -objectdir: The name where the base Objects directory is located. Used to read mtl file Defaults to current directory. -dae: Export Collada format files (Default) -obj: Export to Waveform (.obj) (Don't use this!) -blend: Export Blender format files (Not Implemented) -smooth: Smooth Faces -group: Group meshes into single model -throw: Throw Exceptions to installed debugger Notes: -blend doesn't do anything, and -daeis on by default. Use the Collada format whenever possible. Known issues: * #ivo files (generally .skin/.skinm files) are hit or miss. * No support yet for animation. Bug Reporting: The preferred method of reporting an issue is to make a post on the Issues section of GitHub: https://github.com/Markemp/Cryengine-Converter/issues You can also send me a PM, but GitHub is better, as it will have tracking. Games currently tested against: Star Citizen (3.8) MechWarrior Online Armored Warfare Prey Evolve Icarus Extra special thanks to Alluran, who solved the dual file issue and cleaned up the entire code base! And taught me a lot about professional grade programming in the process, and Dymek who came up with some creative solutions to object scaling for SC and Half float processing. Also special thanks to Th3St0rmTr00p3r for helping solve a long standing problem with rotations. If you'd like to participate in the future development of this tool, please send me a message, or check out the repo at http://github.com/markemp/cryengine-converter. Thanks!
