Seeing that CIG are now working the Defender concept through, I thought I would put out my quick concept I was working on for a larger Banu ship cause I'm curious how close I am to the look and feel. Today's ATV actually made me feel like I wasn't that off. :slightly_smiling_face: That said I introduce the Banu Vagabond. Not sure if will be seeing this one through all the way and I haven't spent much time on it, but I felt it had some interesting things going for it so I thought I would post it for those that happen to still follow the modding forums. The Vagabond is pretty large (80m) or so, and has unique beam weapons sort of like the Enterprise (D-E) Phaser array fire that are operated by two beam array operators. There are semi circle arrays in the back and in the front. Additionally, the guns on some of these pictures are oversized so hopefully you've read this first. I've brought them down to size 6 guns of which it will have 4 and the beam weapons. Crew is 4-6 for the ship. Pilot, co-pilot/nav, a scanner / beam array weapon operator, and an engineering / beam array weapon operator. It also has full amenities for the crew to support long hauls. Shielding and armor is very robust with the Vagabond as well, however maneuverability is only moderately good for a ship of its size. Conversely it does have a good top speed which is slightly higher than ships in its class. As far as offense, the Vagabond's rate of fire is typically slow for the size 6 guns and the beam weapons are slow discharging but have longer lived bursts. The thought with the Vagabond is that it is a step up from the Defender and is typically used as a roaming mid size (Compared to the BMM) bartering / commerce platform with the capability to backup any deals gone wrong. Often the Banu land these large craft and sell their goods ad-hoc right out of the front of the ship with makeshift colorful tents hung between the great arms of the craft and around the sides of the ship. The main frontal central deck is often used as a small shop with large cargo stored in the back. Currently I'm working on a couple images to showcase how that looks.
