The Kruger Intergalactic V Series ‘Galileo’ Medium Modular, the company’s first crew sized spaceship, was designed to fill any role the owner could desire and look good while doing it. Rather than being an ‘all-in-one’ solution like the Anvil Carrack, the KI Galileo is a ‘one-ship-for-any’ single role at a time. By taking advantage of the swappable forward module compartment, Galileo owners will be able switch between many different roles without having to purchase an entirely new ship. This KI Galileo ship concept is built around the idea of co-op gameplay for 2-4 players on a single ship performing one role to perfection in a luxury, long range, medium sized spacecraft. The Galileo comes with crew amenities like beds, bathroom and lockers, and enough cargo space to store 24-32 SCU or a cyclone/rover? sized vehicle... before adding on the forward module. Any crew can make use of these base features of the Galileo, but the forward module is what really defines the role of the Galileo at any given time. This ship should be comparable to the Drake Cutlass Black in size and ability. The basic ship without modules attached should have less weapons, and carry less cargo than the Cutlass… but a cargo module means more cargo than the Cutlass Black, just as the combat module would mean the more firepower than the Cutlass Black. Whereas the Cutlass is a jack-of-all-trades... the Galileo, with a module installed, is a master-of-one-trade. The Galileo can be broken down into 3 main sections: Cockpit/Crew Quarters (top level, middle of ship) Side by side pilot seats in the front (like 85x, but styled like the P52 Merlin) Remote Turret (S3) above and behind pilots (top hemisphere) Two beds, bathroom, lockers, crew stuff... behind pilot seats (below turret) Two one-person elevators on each side (lead to cargo bay and ground) Escape pods (possible the elevators also function as single person escape pods) Cargo Bay w/ Rear Ramp (lower level, back half of the ship) 24-32 SCU, enough to at least store a Cyclone if not a Rover Rear cargo / vehicle ramp, docking collar/airlocks on the sides Elevators on each side near the doors at middle of ship separating cargo and module Component parts in the walls Thrusters, VTOL, engines and intakes all attached to Cargo Section (wings too) Forward Module (lower level, front half of the ship) Swappable module to specialize the ship Most contain a forward control seat in the front of the module with a window (like the MISC Prospector cockpit but less bubbly and no ability to fly ship) Connected to the cargo bay at the center of the ship (some utilize the cargo bay) (Please forgive my crude MS Paint Concept Sketch. I am not an artist! Please help with artwork if you can draw/3d Model and like this ship idea! This is not at all to dimensions... just a rough sketch to give you an idea of what I am talking about.) Dimensions: 40m long total (20m each for cargo bay and forward module), 12m wide ‘fusealge’ (10m interior useable area), 9m tall (ground clearance plus lower level plus upper level), 20m widest point at tip of wings. Basically, a 40x12m rectangle with wings and a cockpit/crew quarters upper level ‘hump’ at the middle/top and a ramp that lowers in the rear. Ship Components should basically just all be Medium. It’s sized between the Drake Cutlass and the RSI Constellation. It should have three S3 weapon slots, and about 16 missiles (4x4) on the base ship. The forward module can add additional components, like advanced radar in the pathfinder module, extra shields in the combat module, extra computers in a science module, etc. Everything that has parts from Kruger should get top priority… and all quality parts as this is a luxury ship. It should be about the same as the Drake Cutlass in ship performance. It is a luxury ship, so the Galileo should handle a bit better and be more durable than the Cutlass, but it should also be more expensive and is larger. Crew roles for the Galileo: 1) pilot in the main cockpit 2) co-pilot in main cockpit controlling upper remote turret 3) player in forward control seat of the module (or forward manned turret on combat module) 4) player in the main section of the module (like a player administering medical care) It would be really awesome if both seats in the main cockpit could switch roles, and both could fly… so it could be like a learning tool… like student driver cars IRL. Main pilot seat has a switch to toggle who has control of flying. Just hopes and dreams. As the module defines the role of the ship, having a bunch of great modules will be the key to Kruger’s success of the Vxx Galileo. Kruger has a long history of working with ship manufacturers, and looks to extend this by creating modules specifically suited to support ships made by other manufacturers, like the Mineral Refinery Module to support the MISC Prospector. When the Vxx Galielo takes on a module, it’s name changes to the designation of the module; therefore a Galileo with the V91 BiotiCorp Medical Station Module would be considered a Kruger V91 Galileo Medium Medical. Perhaps a low level scan reveals these ships as ‘Vxx Galileo’ whereas a more intense scan would reveal the full ‘V91 Galileo Medium Medical’ ship role data. Here is a preliminary list of my suggested modules for the Vxx Galileo: (Some are Kruger branded and others are made in partnership with other manufacturers and carry their brand name. Just some different ideas.) V91 BiotiCorp Medical Station Module Forward control seat used for life-signs scanner and tractor beam Airlock/docking collar to bring in people, escape pods... or dock with another ship Medical Facilities Galore (like Drake Cutlass Red but more luxurious) Sensitive Medical Cargo Storage (protected from low level scans) V27 Kruger Intergalactic Mineral Refinery Module Forward control seat used to operate robot arms that grab mining pods Automated refinery reduces to precious metals and incinerates the useless dirt Internal auto tractor beam system to box the precious metals then store in cargo bay Pair with a Prospector to extend the duration and increase the haul of a mining run. V88 Kruger Intergalactic Combat Module Manned turret (front / belly / lower hemisphere) unobstructed rear view along belly Manned turret replaces the forward control seat (bespoke dual tigerstrike?) Carries Extra ammo for Bespoke Dual Tigerstrike Manned Turret Holds 16 (4x4) more Missiles. Can they be launched by turret gunner? Or only pilot? Room enough for some drop seats to deploy troops? V33 Origin Jumpworks GmbH Touring Module Entire front module is a lounge area with bar and other amenities (bathroom!) Windows all around to provide maximum viewing pleasure Contraband Smuggling Hidden Cargo Storage (hide your drugs from cops) V10 Argo Astronautics Merchant Transfer Module Extra Cargo Storage connected to the Cargo Grid Forward control seat can have arms to act like Argo MPUV Cargo Takes Cargo off an Orion/Hull E and stuffs it into its own Cargo Bay to take to a landing pad for sale Use the Combat Module to Escort a Hull-E, then swap to this module at Destination to help move and sell Cargo V46 Kruger Salvage Support Module Forward control seat has salvage scanners and tractor beam Smaller and more maneuverable than Reclaimer, can fetch salvage easier Tractor beam in bulk mode can move large salvage to hand it over to the Reclaimer Tractor beam in collect mode can gather up smaller salvage to hand it over to the Reclaimer Reclaimer sends cargo boxes of its reclaimed goods to be stored in Galileo cargo bay V73 Tumbril Tonk Deployment Module Awkwardly carries Tonk for Ground Deployment (on outside of ship) Holds a tank like a helicopter (but with a magnetic claw instead of cables) It grabs the Tonk, it carries the Tonk, it drops the Tonk Raceship Carrier Module (bespoke dock for each type of Raceship that doesnt have bed) Specific Docked Snub Connection Refueling, Rearming, Repair by hand (inside and/or EVA) Like a mobile Pit Stop No Origin 350R or C.O. Mustang as they are too big? Pathfinder Module (like terrapin) Advanced scanning like the Terrapin Extra Quantum and normal Fuel Tanks for long voyages Containment holding storage for discovered plant/wild life/artifacts Science station to analyze stuff Data Module (like drake herald) Forward control seat is a data chair Radar broadcast equipment. Small broadcast studio?
