Updated version https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/50172/thread/kastak-s-inferno-line/80689 Long story short. I decided to design my own Star Citizen revolver with a classic look (vintage look in the future). I didn’t found (maybe I didn’t search enough?) any revolver-like in Star Citizen and although you can look cool with an automatic you need a revolver to look badass. The manufacturer is Kastak Arms. This is a Gauss revolver or a coilgun revolver. As you prefer. The barrel house the coil. That is why is so big compared with the calibre of the bullets. The core of the drum has a magnet that drags the ferromagnetic bullets to its centre. The bullets actually are about 4mm diameter and 4cm long. Maybe I should make them half long as I have read that the ratio length/diameter should be not more than 5:1. In that case the capacity would double. Actually is of 32 rounds plus one in the chamber. I have in mind some alternative versions for the bullet layout that reduces or increases the capacity. Including one on a spiral all around the drum making it unnecessary to spin the drum when shooting. An electromagnet behind the drum push the projectile from the drum to a chamber at the beginning of the coilgun at the same time that the coil is turn on and the magnet effect also drags the projectile. Shot modes one by one or 4 rounds burst. It uses three kind of munition. Armor piercing. Mix of tungsten, ferromagnetic material and ceramic material heart. The tungsten point pierces the armour. At this point the ceramic heart shatters and the bullet becomes unstable during the penetration. High penetration and average damage. Against non armoured targets damages becomes low as the bullet flies straight. Standard. Just made of ferromagnetic material. Average to low penetration with average damage. Not fantastic but cheap. Antipersonal. Lead and ferromagnetic alloy. This heavy ammunition becomes magma at high speed and splash on contact. Very low penetration and very high damage. Among mercs is called Devil’s spit. Computer to manage energy, shot mode, laser and range finder (both under the barrel), ammunition left... I am still thinking the name. I am playing with Dragoon (like the classic revolver, a homage), Extremauncion (yes, in Spanish but sure you know what it means in english and is more inline with the name politic of Kastak) or Reverendo (my nick. I have a kinda ego problem. lol. Well… I don’t think it is a problem) Disclaimer. I am not an electromagnetic engineer. I just tried to make it sound plausible with my basic knowledge. The hand is not mine. You can find it here: https://free3d.com/3d-model/rigged-hands-28855.html
