Ship is in Landing mode on the Left and is in Flight mode on the Right. RSI Constellation -LIBRA- Ship type: - Expeditionary - Handling Characteristic: - Lean, Long, Fast, - Descriptive words: Expedition, reconnaissance, scout, survey, pathfinder, tracker, This project represents the modernization of the legendary RSI Constellation class of space going vessels in basic model format. Expedition: “A journey undertaken by a group of people with a definite objective.” RSI LIBRA is equipped with four main engines designed to incorporate their own heat to produce a cooler, cleaner, and more fuel efficient thrust during long periods of super cruise across distant frontier star systems. This coupled with large reinforced fuel tanks, a modest cargo bay and generous storage options throughout the ship give the RSI LIBRA and her crew the capacity to travel farther, wider, and faster than any other vessel of similar size or class. Pathfinder: “One that discovers a new course or way through unexplored regions.” Boasting an entire suite of sophisticated sensors including a “Cyclops” scanner mounted directly over the cockpit, allows the RSI LIBRA to reliably detect navigational hazards at long ranges during Quantum travel. Granting the crew of the RSI LIBRA the ability to reach destinations through vast amounts of uncharted space with a high degree of safety and efficiency. Meanwhile, the Duel dispensers, located ship’s aft, leave navigational beacons trailing in the ship’s wake creating well marked routes for others to safely follow in the future. Reconnaissance: “A preliminary survey to gain information.” “An exploratory military survey of enemy territory.” Upon arriving safely at its destination, the RSI LIBRA can deploy it’s parasite craft, launch probes and utilize its large optic dish to begin preliminary evaluation of objects in space at safe, and even undetectable distances be they solid, liquid, gaseous, plasma, or otherwise. Survey: “To take a general or comprehensive view of condition, situation, or value.” Once it has been determined to take a closer look, the RSI LIBRA can conduct a thorough survey of planetary and asteroid surfaces by dispense and retrieve a variety of ground vehicles, cargo and personnel from its lowered cargo bay deck without support facilities. Scout: “To spy on or explore carefully in order to obtain information” The combination of reliable sophistication grants the RSI LIBRA the ability to answer more than the call to explore. Able to detect active Quantum traps in advance with it’s Cyclops scanner, RSI LIBRA can lead civilian convoys through pirate space, or move certain questionable goods through UEE prohibition zones while avoiding shall we say, “Navigational hazards,” synthetic or natural alike. Military vanguards can benefit from the presence of a RSI LIBRA in probing for unknown routes into and out of enemy strongholds, while banished outcasts could use it to find new ways to circumvent embargo blockage check points. Tracker: “One who finds or pursues or hunts by following a succession of marks left by that which has passed before.” When the need arises, the RSI LIBRA can employ its abilities proactively as a tracker. Ether in retracing the steps of a lost ship to assist with rescue efforts, or bloodhounding the trial of an evasive bounty. Thanks for viewing. This is a concept of what I think a RSI Constellation hulled could be if it was designed at this point in the game's development. The idea behind this project was to present only a basic ship hulled design or concept. Much of the detail and the specific internal layout was omitted to allow the engineer or end user to design the deck out as they thought best. Also the note, the forward "Wings" are not shown, but are presumed to be tucked inside the hulled and would deploy when needed much like the main turrets. How would you design the internal decks? and how would you have the forward wings deploy? What do you think would be most useful if your crew as operating this Vessel? Let everyone know in the comments. And once again, Thanks you.
