Everytime i look at ship cargo hold like the one on the Corsair or the C1, i wonder why we are always limited to certain number in terms of scu. I understand that in the future, cargo will have a certain weight associate with it, and that plane by exemple have limited weight limit in real life. But what if we could choose how much cargo we want in our ship? It would be cool to have the option to have intented cargo grid ( manifacturer recommended 72 scu of cargo for the Corsair ), full cargo grid ( basically all the floor become snapable in the cargo area without limitation ), or no cargo grid ( so everything loose ). Having a full cargo grid could lead to things like faster wear and tear on the component, slightly slower ship, less maneuverability in atmosphere, little more fuel consumption. While having the intented cargo capacity would help your ship staying in good condition for a long time, and let you go as fast as possible with the ship etc. I don't know what you could do by desactivating entirely the cargo grid, maybe you could fit even more cargo at your own risk. I thought this would be so refreshing for cargo hauler, and everyship in my opinion. And it would just make sens i think ! I have made some basic exemple if you want to visualize it better ( Yellow is intented cargo grid, green is full ). I hope someone at Cig will see this!
