Star Citizen likes industry specialized ships, but one industry hasn't got it's own specialized ship yet. Small package delivery. I introduce you to the Quantum Tuk-Tuk Built by Consolidated Outland, the makers of the Hover-Quad, the Nomad, and the notoriously bad for package delivery Mustang lineup. Talk about poetic symmetry, perhaps this is their way of making up for the Mustangs failure. For too long, the small package delivery industry has been overlooked. Finally someone brings us a ship designed for the needs of the small businesses. The Quantum Tuk-Tuk is a low purchase price, low operating cost, bare essentials vehicle to suit the needs of the package delivery community. Following Consolidated Outland founder Koerner’s own ideals of low cost/high utility ship design, the Quantum Tuk-Tuk utilizes size zero components; one shield, one cooler, and one powerplant. Last but not least, the innovative people at Tarsus partnered with Consolidated Outland to create the first size zero standard Quantum Drive. No ship this small has ever been produced capable of jumping point to point, and with it’s small size comes equally small fuel usage! However while the Tuk-Tuk does have a Quantum drive, it does not have a jump drive. Given power limits, size limits, and safety considerations adding a jump drive to the quantum drive was not an advisable upgrade at this time. Only an insane soul would attempt to jump in a little cart anyway. Don’t forget to bring your space suit, CO’s Quant Tuk-Tuk has no life support, and no weapons. It doesn’t need them, with its small size pirates likely won’t even see it, and the ones who do will simply ignore it. The last limitation worth mentioning is a lack of a dedicated scanner. Oh you can see other ships, but the Tuk-Tuk wasn’t made for exploration or scouting for mining. Without a scanner, a Jump Drive, and weapons the weight and cost of the ship go down dramatically. Finally with these innovations and savings space is accessible to the little man! So it’s a small ship, great. But how is it designed specifically for package delivery? The Quantum Tuk-Tuk is based on the old earth Tuk-Tuk used for extremely low cost carriage of passengers and small cargo. With a single seat that can be used for passengers or up to three standard size deliverable boxes, this tiny ship can slip in and out of delivery locations before a pilot in the larger ship can even reach their cockpit. With an acceleration of 77 Meters per Second (That’s faster than the Reclaimer boys!) and a top speed of 880 M/S when in flight mode, where the Tuk-Tuk really stands out is it’s transition when near to the ground, not into landing mode but into a safe speed restricted hover-mode much like that of the Hover-Quad, however speed limited so your company doesn’t have to pay for respawn costs of employees and replacing lost packages. Without any doors to hinder the delivery driver, your driver can now easily and quickly enter and exit the vehicle, as well as rapidly load and unload small packages. When every second counts, count on the Quantum Tuk-Tuk. Whether you're delivering pizzas, fragile cargo, or expensive ship parts, Consolidated Outland is looking out for you. A ship specifically designed for small package delivery, meant to keep the cost of delivery down as low as possible and to keep the delivery time as short as possible. With it's cheap purchase price, this industry specific ship can finally help your small business competitively reach for the stars. Not going to lie, if I were to introduce these into the game, I'd have them purchasable with real world money for the lazy, and not purchasable with aUEC, but rather you can only get them by earning high enough reputation with the legitimate delivery companies. That'd be fun. edit note: See comments for two other versions of the Quantum Tuk-Tuk manufactured by DRAKE and MISC.
