I'm using a 2013 Asus Republic of Gamers G-750 laptop Quad Core 3.2ghz CPU, Nvidia 870, 12 GB RAM, no SSD Immediately after 3.0 launch it was unplayable for me, and again a few days later, then I performed these steps and am now getting playable framerates. Results may vary, proceed with caution, research and understand what works for your system. I went from unplayable 4fps to 18-24fps on average. 1. Followed most of the instructions from [edit] https://redacted.tv/2017/12/20/win10guide/ (did not modify network settings and tweaked the recommendations as made sense for me.) 2. Cleared all non-essential startup programs so nothing loads on boot. 3. Created a file named user.cfg in the LIVE folder in the Star Citizen install directory. Put the following text inside the file: sys_spec = 1 sys_maxfps = 30 r_DisplayInfo = 3 r_ChromaticAberration = 0 r_VSync = 0 r_Sharpening = 0.2 r_MotionBlur = 0 r_DepthOfField = 0 r_OpticsBloom = 0 r_AntialiasingMode = 0 r_TexturesStreamPoolSize = 512 e_ShadowsPoolSize = 256 e_ShadowsMaxTexRes = 64 e_ShadowsReScale = 0.1 4. Close the launcher when running SC, it doesn't need to stay open after you've loaded the game. 5. Fly safely citizen, see you in the verse!
