Hi everyone, That make some days I've tried to use my VR headset on Star Citizen. And yesterday I've made it work !! The main benefit of my method is that it didn't use any screen recorder then you have better output-lag than using Virtual Desktop. Because yes, virtual desktop use gpu (or cpu if you choose it in settings) to capture the desktop and show you on your headset. My method directly use the HDMI port to display Star Citizen in your headset. To do it I only use these free softwares : - SteamVR - https://store.steampowered.com/app/250820/SteamVR - Opentrack - https://github.com/opentrack/opentrack/releases - ReShade - https://reshade.me/#download No need of more software like I've already seen on Youtube. (No need of Virtual Desktop, I didn't like it because it seams to flat for me and it make SteamVR 3D env keep loaded in background at the same time as Star Citizen, my way didn't load it and seams better to see.) SteamVR Configuration In the first step you have to start SteamVR with a headset connected in. Open the burger menu on the top left of the SteamVR Status window and select "Developer/Developer Settings" and then click on "Disable Direct Display Mode". This mode allow your headset to be detected as an external display by Windows 10/11.\ You can now restart SteamVR, and as you can see, a new screen is detected inside of your Windows Display settings. You can close the window "Headset Window" SteamVR just opened it wont be used for us. So open your Windows OS Settings app, go to "System/Display" and select the new screen appear, probably the highest number. You can click "Identifier" to see all numbers of your screens. You need to change the mod of display to mirroring between your main display where Star Citizen will run and your VR headset. Opentrack configuration Opentrack show you a simple configuration window with an octopus as viewer tracking to see what you did. You have to change Input to "Valve SteamVR" and Output to "freetrack 2.0 enhanced" Put your headset on your head, look at ahead and click on Start, it will calibrate your headset to this center point and track it like a TrackIR device. ReShade configuration At first run if ReShade you have to select Star Citizen as game, just follow theses images : ReShade start with Star Citizen, you just have to press "Home" button on your keyboard to open it. You'll get a window like this : Just enable "SuperDeath3D_VR" and change some settings to fit your headset. I'll show you my settings but it can change if you have another headset or if your eyes need some lens : - Eye Focus Adjustment : 80 - Divergence & Convergence : 25.0 - ZPD & Separation : 0.025 - 0.000 - Field of View : 0.500 - Alternative Overlay Mode : Yes To make it easier to enable and disable, I set the "End" shortcut in the ReShade Settings. Click Settings tab on the top right and you see "Effect Toggle Key" Set your shortcut. Star Citizen Configuration Go to the Star Citizen Configuration and change some configs : In "Graphics" tab : - Fields of View : 90 In "Comms, FOIP & Head Tracking" tab: - Head Tracking - General - Source : TrackIR - Head Tracking - General - Toggle - Auto Recalibrate : No - Head Tracking - General - Toggle - Disable while Seated : No - Head Tracking - General - Toggle - Disable During FPS : No - Head Tracking - General - Disable During ADS : No - Head Tracking - General - Toggle - Disable During Mobiglas : No - Head Tracking - General - Toggle - Disable During Interaction Mode : No - Head Tracking - General - Enable Roll in Seats : Yes - Head Tracking - General - Enable Roll in FPS : Yes - Head Tracking - General - External view Toggle Enabled : Yes - Head Tracking - General - External View - Disable in Inventory : No - Head Tracking - General - Hold - Use Device Offset : Yes And that's all, you can go and play your game in VR !!
