I have been playing around with resolutions for a few months now. I bought a Philips 43" 4K monitor for gaming and have been really impressed. Tomb Raider, Witcher 3, Metro, Star Citizen etc. have looked really good in 4K and I have been able to run all of them at very playable frame rates with SLI 1080's. Then I tried playing in 2K........ I could not tell the difference between 2K and 4K. I sit about 2-3 feet away from this monitor which means its very large and takes most of my vision. I was going from game to game and changing the resolution between the two. I had to have my face squashed up against the screen before I could see a slight improvement with sharpness but from 2+ feet away there was very little between them. Is 4K really a viable option for PC gaming? There was very little difference between the two resolutions yet the sacrifice in performance to run 4K is huge. FPS at 2K was massively improved and it felt like they had been supercharged! How many of you play SC at 4K?
