I've updated my guide on how I like to configure my input devices for complex scenarios using Star Citizen as an example. https://ventorvar.com/posts/joystick-intro/ What makes the configuration "complex"? I'm using dual sticks (Thrustmaster T16000Ms) and a throttle, where I want to have duplicate functionality on my throttle as I have on my sticks so I can cruise with just the right stick and the throttle, or I can use dual-sticks for precise/fast-paced flying. Since SC doesn't allow you to bind something to multiple devices, this just isn't possible without using third-party tools. One of the other benefits we get from my setup is that you'll no longer run into the situation where Windows swaps your joysticks so you have to rebind your controls in-game. I also do things like use a tweaked response curve so my throttle is actually usable with as a speed limiter. I'll admit, the initial setup takes some time and you'll probably spend a lot of time tweaking for your own preferences, but it's totally worth it in the end! If you've followed my guide before and just want the updated configurations, check out the TL;DR version here: https://ventorvar.com/posts/joystick-sc-tldr/ If you find an issue or have any feedback, I'd love to hear it!
