UPDATE - I will wait until fall for DDR5 mobos and RAM to drop. This means I will probably be upgrading to whatever the fastest CPU option for 8 - 10 cores will be at a decent price to match that new board and ram. Graphics card will be upgraded only after that and also when the prices make more sense because holy CRAP the prices make NO SENSE right now. $900 3060s? Crazy, and I want 3080s on up. Hi Star Citizen community. I have many questions about upgrading my PC specifically to make Star Citizen run as smooth as butter as possible. So I suppose I will start with my current set up and where I can go from there. Mother board Rog Strix B360-G Gaming RAM 16gb 2400 DIM CPU i5-9400F 6 Cores, 6 Threads @2.9GHz, Coffee Lake LGA 1151. Release date: Q1 2019. WD 1TB 3D Nano SATA SSD GPU is an RTX 2070 Power is 750w I am good at selecting parts when they are new but not so much when it is older gen, and this is only over a year old for the most part. Want to upgrade to 32gb RAM but I am not sure if this motherboard is worth keeping. One stick of RAM is horribly close to the CPU cooler. I have been told at nausea that many of my possible crashing problems may be due to the game hitting over 16gb of necessary RAM usage. Not sure if this is the case or not but one person swore it hits 20gb of RAM usage a lot. I would also like to upgrade the CPU but not sure if getting the high end of this gen is worth it compared to scrapping this mobo and getting the latest. As for GPUs, would love to get anything 3080 on up BUT the prices are exorbitant right now so that can wait.
