Probably beating a dead horse here but my GTX 780 GPU just died and I'm in the need of replacement. Unfortunately, I've learned what cryptocurrency mining is all about since thats the reason retailer's inventories are blown out. But I got to wondering if there is any new info on this debate. Question: Is there potential projected longterm performance edge to using AMD since SC is built with Vulcan? I know the game is not optomized. I know there is a long way to go in developement. Yes, new GPU tech will be available before the game is finished so its not ideal to buy tech now that will be best fitted for feature release. And the masive number of new GTX cards being used by the player base will drive developers to find a balance between manufacterers. All that aside, I need a replacement now and I'm trying to do the best with the knowledge we have at this time. I like AMD's less expensive free sink monitor availability. However, the lack of available GPU's from retailers and increase in prices for those that are, is disheartening.
