Because I'm currently running one on Win7 and am not sure what observations I've made are due to Win7, and maybe even the fact I didn't do a clean install, and which are just AMD-typical. As a starter, I can quickly link to a Reddit thread I made that got no real feedback so far: https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDHelp/comments/81wz0x/help_please_win7_1950x_feels_like_data_bus/ As one specific issue: I find it odd how the only temperature readings I get are preak values of any core, meaning even if single core load is being shifted around, when I burden a single core, my Tdie instantaneously jumps from around 40°C to 4-5°C below the throttle temp of 68 °C and the cooling system is freaking out because the mainboard isn't offering any delay option. It's not like the radiator fans suddenly spinning up will help in any way with those temperature spikes. I also find it odd how temps are spiking like that considering the headspreader is soldered to the dies and I got full contact surface to the waterblock with an 11 W/mK thermal paste. Also, sometimes the throttle temp is briefly exceeded by a couple degrees. Also, do you know what exactly the special power plan that's only available for Win10 is doing? Merely downclocking cores? (I'm getting a system log message about disabled CPU power saving. I guess that's that; SpeedStep or such not working.) What's DPC latency like on Win10? (I found reports on the net unrelated to Threadripper where people had too high DPC latency on Win10 and even a complete re-install didn't fix it, so I hope I'm not dealing with a mainboard hardware issue.)
