I am currently running i7 5960x 3.0 Ghz proc Corsair Water-cooled proc mounted prefab kit, it all came together in a kit. I've used 2 different ones and find Corsair a very reliable brand Rampage V Extreme mobo 32 gigs corsair ram 2133? I believe SLI linked GTX 1080 Ti's (EVGA high-bandwidth sli) 1 Tb M.2 storage an additional 3 Tb's of various solid state drives both internal and external. I own an X52 flight and throttle, and am currently using the X55 Pro flight H.O.T.A.S. both Saitek, I use a G510s Keyboard I just started using the Logitech G602 mouse, takes Double AA's but the wireless connection and length good batteries last make up for it by miles. the manitcor, razer mouse pad I'm also using a wired to control unit, to headphones headset with a controller unit to headphones, controller unit has a dial with several sections for custom on the fly adjustments, as well as mic and 7.1 button. I am also using the Astro A50 Gaming headphones, worth the money in my opinion, I'm using an Xbox, and PS4 controller for PC a UHD 4K2K G-sync monitor, 29 inch I believe, second monitor is a Samsung 29 inch high response rate and double the color for movies and browsing and such. I'm using an H2N desktop micro (amazing) I also have a Logitech desktop webcam... however my cat chieffee ate through the wire. I have 2 razer back up mice, and a nice newer style razer keyboard with omni color back lighting. Built it myself, no regrets except the processor, I use several programs at once so I needed this processor, but for gaming there are a lot more and cheaper yet better processors or CPU's out there. I would not recommend using the i7 5960x unless you are in need of more processing in more areas of programs. I also find myself having a lot of issues with overclocking this setup using and tried a couple different Bios'. Advice-try to go in knowing more about what you are getting then the person behind the register, listen to everything they say and if anything sounds funny, you make sure you stop them and have them clarify. If they know what they are talking about they could be an invaluable asset. Also, and this is most important, you don't have to spend what I spent on this machine, when I first started I used 4 GTX 980's 2 days after they came out, only to discover they wouldn't SLI at all, none of them. after a couple months of trying to get it to work I ended up selling 3 of them. Ask questions, don't be afraid to ask to clarify, don't think you have to spend lots of money on a machine anymore. You're rig will probably be outdated about 1 to 3 months after you finish building it, so don't get hung up on any one aspect unless it's really really important. Have fun!!!!
