My current computer murders polar bears by the dozen. CPU - AMD FX9590 4.7Ghz x 8 cores. 220 watts GPU - AMD R9 290 Tri X - 200 watts Ram - 16 gig DDR3 Board - Gigabyte 990FX UD3 r4. Watercooled. Including very low estimates for what I would get selling my old parts I have a budget of £280 for new board, chip, ram, and GPU. The motherboard will be new, the ram, CPU and GPU will be second user from CEX here in the UK. They are about 30% cheaper than new. Its for 1080p gaming, 4k is nice but my eyes are shot so I game on a 40 inch sony bravia which is still doing just fine for me at present. I know I can build a system of similar processing and gaming power that uses less watts, but I really don't want to move sideways but going off info via cpu/gpu boss.com any build that performs better than my current seems to cost considerably more. I was just wondering if any of you have any ideas for me to look at. I have a preference for AMD gpus's and cpus, but beggars cant be choosers so to speak. Open to all ideas. To give you an idea of how my system currently performs in SC to compare to your own my telemetry is in an image below (i'm the orange dot). I sit in the 30 to 39fps range. Which frankly for a 6 year old PC at 1080p high settings in this game is better than I expected. It is also a good note of progress given back in 3.0 I was getting 7 to 14fps. Cheers.
